This research was conducted In 2013 at Canggu, Bali. The team of Project Kalpa assisted Rik Damhuis, a master student from University of Amsterdam doing research entitled “Subak in Hot Water: Agricultural Land Conversion amongst Peri-urban Rice Farmers in South-central Bali”. The research focused on rice field land conversion at Canggu area in Bali. The Purpose of the research was to explain the land conversion phenomenon taking place in Canggu caused by rapid change of development and farmer’s livelihood. The team was assisting in interviewing the respondents consisted of head of Subaks, active farmer, non-active farmer, and local government officials. The team also acted as fixers who manage the key informants prior to the research.
